By now, you are probably quite close to being ready for the holidays. You’ve bought the gifts. The menu is planned and preparations are well underway. Many people like to remind us to remember the reason for the season. It’s not about the tree or the lights. Nor is it about Santa and the reindeer. It’s about the birth of Jesus. So let’s examine this a little. Some may tell me that I should just let people do what they want to do. I shouldn’t write an antimissionary piece this close to christmas. I thought about it and decided that simply isn’t correct. This is the perfect time because it is possible that someone reading this just might decide to study G-d’s word and find out what it is that I am saying. Since there isn’t a bad time to study G-d’s word, I feel justified.
The Torah says that G-d is not a man. So, if He is not a man, He cannot have a son. He doesn’t impregnate women, especially those who are already betrothed. It would be like He condoned cheating. The word betrothed today has a different meaning than it did to the ancient Hebrews. To them, betrothal was a part of the actual marriage. Today betrothal mean engagement. It is not binding in any way. Couples today break their engagements all the time. It means nothing. This wasn’t the case back then. A betrothal was binding. The couple would essentially be married. So for Mary to become pregnant during her betrothal is the same as if she had had an affair by today’s standards. In those days, people who were caught in an illicit affair were stoned to death. It was G-d’s law. The big issue here is, does G-d break His own law? The answer has to be a resounding no. If He were to break His own law, how could He expect us to keep it? Is He a hypocrite?
The prophets told us that one day a Messiah would come. Christians believe this was Jesus. But the prophets didn’t just say he would come. They also told us when he would come and what he would do. That’s right, we were told when he would come and Jesus doesn’t fit the timeline. Daniel chapter 2 tells us that the messiah would come after the fourth kingdom is divided. The fourth kingdom mentioned in Daniel is Rome. Rome was the fourth kingdom to conquer Israel. This is an historical fact you can look up for yourself. During your research, you can find that Rome was divided in the year 285 of the common era. Any person who died prior to this date cannot be the messiah. This is big. If Jesus was the messiah, then Daniel, a prophet of G-d, got it all wrong. If Daniel got that wrong, it calls into question everything else Daniel wrote.
Let’s take a look at what Daniel said. “2:40 And a fourth kingdom will be strong as iron, for iron crumbles and flattens everything, and like iron, which shatters all these, it will crumble and shatter.
41 And what you saw, the feet and the toes-which were partly of potter’s clay and partly of iron-so it will be a divided kingdom, and in it will be some of the strength of iron, in view of what you saw iron mixed with clay.
42 And the toes of the feet were partly iron and partly clay, for part of the kingdom will be strong and part of it will be broken.
43 And what you saw, iron mixed with clay, [connotes] that they will mingle with the seed of men, but they will not cleave one to the other, as iron does not mix with clay.
44 And in the days of these kings, the God of heaven will set up a kingdom forever, it will not be destroyed, and the kingdom will not be left to another people; it will crumble and destroy all these kingdoms, and it will stand forever.”
In verse 41 it says it will be a divided kingdom. Diocletian, Emporer of Rome. divided the kingdom and promoted Maximus. Diocletian kept the Eastern Empire and gave Maximus the Western Empire. They ruled as equals. Verse 42 tells us that one part will be strong and one part will be broken. Historically, the church replaced the Roman Empire under the name the Roman Catholic Church. The Popes had immense power over the ancient world. More importantly, they had power over the Jewish people. The church severely afflicted the Jewish people. They burned their holy books and forced countless Jews into conversion.
Verse 43 tells us that they will mingle with the seed of men but will not cleave together. This is describing the Protestant Revolution. Today, there are tens of thousands of christian denominations. Verse 44 tells the rest of the story. G-d will set up a new kingdom forever. This is telling of the messianic age which is yet to come. This kingdom can not be christianity because it says it will not be left to another people. The Roman Empire was left to the church. It also says that this kingdom will destroy all the other kingdoms. Greece still exists as well as Persia. It doesn’t fit the prophecy.
This section of Daniel explains what will happen from the time of Nebuchadnezzar until the Messianic Age. We have historical evidence of all of these kingdoms. Do you think that Daniel got all of this right but failed to see that christianity would be the fifth kingdom? That is foolishness and cannot be shown through any scripture.
So, what does any of this have to do with christmas? It shows that, even if you believe that Jesus was born of a virgin, through an illicit affair with the holy ghost, it was too early. It had to happen after the year 285.
What is the real reason for the season? Christmas is celebrated at the time of the winter solstice. This time was celebrated by many different ancient peoples. Today we call them pagans. The Bible calls them idol worshippers. The church adopted the celebration because they wanted these people to join in their beliefs and become part of the church. They don’t deny this fact. It can be found on many church websites. They had to give it a christian name and change the meaning of the symbols. But make no mistake. If you are celebrating christmas, you are taking part in an ancient celebration practiced solely by idol worshippers. It doesn’t matter that the church decided to change the significance. You can’t take something unholy and say it is holy just because you want to convert people to christianity. That is exactly what was done. That is the original meaning of christmas.
If what you have read here intrigues you, I invite you to read through my other posts. There are too many inconsistencies in the christian bible to discuss in a single blog entry. If you disagree what I have said here, I invite you to prove it wrong through the prophets.
