All across the world, unexplainable things are happening. If it hasn’t come to your neighborhood, it certainly will soon.
In the words of Bob Dylan, “The times they are a changin'” and “You better start swimming or you’ll sink like a stone”, we find that some fifty years ago he was writing a prophecy of what we are seeing still today. One listens to Mr. Dylan and thinks of the changes that took place during the turbulent 1960’s. It may well be that that is all he was saying at that time. Only he knows what went into writing those lyrics. When I listen to those words today I see a much different change that is taking place. There is a growing change in the belief systems of so many people in this world. It can only be the will of G-d Himself. There is no one else who could cause such a change. There aren’t enough activists in the world to pull off such a drastic change on such a grand scale in such a short time. I am referring to the death of religion.
When one studies the Bible, they find there is something that isn’t there. The idea of an organized religion does not exist. Many theologians infer religion into the scriptures, but they are wrong to do so. They assume that it is there and push their beliefs onto the world. What the Torah gives is much more than a religion. Look closely. The Torah was given to a single family, the Children of Israel. This family is then instructed to be a light to the nations. That is to say, an example of how people should live. This great family was given a set of laws by which to live. In doing so, HaShem set the Children of Israel apart to be a nation of priests. Think about that for a minute. If the entire nation is made up of priests, to whom are they priests for if not the rest of the world?
What we are seeing in the world today is an increase in the number of people who are turning to the Jewish people for instruction in their lives. What other religions can’t give has always been there. But only recently have people realized this. If we must call it a religion, Judaism is the only one which says that others don’t need to join in order to be saved, or redeemed in some way. Every other religion in the world says that their way is the only way. Each religion has its own outcome which it expects will happen in the future. Judaism teaches that the righteous non-Jew can have a place in the world to come. All they need to do is to keep seven very easy laws.
Zechariah 8:23 says, ““So said the Lord of Hosts: In those days, when ten men of all the languages of the nations shall take hold of the skirt of a Jewish man, saying, “Let us go with you, for we have heard that God is with you.” It is not enough to look at one verse from the Bible and make a determination. One must read in context. That is to say, one must read everything from a particular portion of scripture. This is the only way to get the full meaning. Looking at the rest of chapter 8, we see a theme unfolding; the return of the Children of Israel to the land of Israel. The chapter begins with, “1 And the word of the Lord of Hosts came [to me], saying: 2 So said the Lord of Hosts: I am jealous for Zion with great jealousy, and with great fury I am jealous for her. 3 So said the Lord: I will return to Zion, and I will dwell in the midst of Jerusalem; and Jerusalem shall be called the city of truth, and the mount of the Lord of Hosts [shall be called] the holy mountain.”
Verses 7 and 8 tell us, “7 So said the Lord of Hosts: Behold I will save My people from the land of the east and from the land of the west. 8 And I will bring them, and they shall dwell in the midst of Jerusalem; and they shall be My people, and I shall be their God, in truth and in righteousness.” Verse 13 reveals what is happening to the Jewish people today; “13 And it shall come to pass that [just] as you were a curse among the nations, O house of Judah and house of Israel, so will I save you-and you shall be a blessing. Fear not; may your hands be strengthened!”
Christianity has been the biggest religion in the world for centuries. Because of this, many people believe that what they teach must be true. Even people who aren’t particularly religious accept that Christianity is what it claims to be. None of these people understand what the prophet Zechariah was telling us. It is plain to see that the Jewish people will be returned to Jerusalem. This has already taken place. This means that the rest of the prophecy is also taking place.
People all over the world are turning to the Jewish people and learning the truth that they have been holding on to all this time. The biggest influx is coming from Christianity. It’s no wonder. They are already familiar with some of the Tenach. On one hand, it is a huge leap, but on the other hand, it is not. They already believe that the Torah was given to Moses. They know it’s true. The hardest part for them is to realize that they have been given misinformation. I believe HaShem is opening their hearts to the truth of the Torah. I understand that all things come from HaShem, even the church. The church exists only because HaShem wants it to exist. Could it exist otherwise? But HaShem also wanted Egypt, Assyria, Persia, and Greece to exist for a specific purpose. All people are created by Him and He loves everyone. The proof for this is also in the prophecy of Zechariah. Verses 20- 22 tell us, “20 So said the Lord of Hosts: [There will] yet [be a time] that peoples and the inhabitants of many cities shall come. 21 And the inhabitants of one shall go to another, saying, “Let us go to pray before the Lord and to entreat the Lord of Hosts. I, too, will go.” 22 And many peoples and powerful nations shall come to entreat the Lord of Hosts in Jerusalem, and to pray before the Lord.” He has made a way for all of the peoples of the world to be blessed; through the Children of Israel.
If you are a Christian, please understand that your pastor or priest will not be able to explain this to you. They believe in such things as replacement theology. This is the idea that the church will take the place of the Jewish people. But, as you have just read, the prophet Zechariah says something else. Your only hope, if you are hoping to wake up, is to do as the prophet said; “take hold of the skirt of a Jewish man, saying, “Let us go with you, for we have heard that God is with you.”
Don’t worry. There are many good rabbis who are more than happy to teach you. They have been expecting you for a long time. You don’t have to convert to Judaism. You can become a righteous gentile and live a good and happy life keeping the laws of Noah. This is what G-d intended from the flood. You don’t need a formal religion in order to be religious. You can worship the G-d of Abraham without the trappings of a formal religion and without the lies of the church. Remember, there are no religions mentioned in the Bible, except those of the idols whom G-d abhors.
